For the Grant Scheme Beneficiaries for Start-Ups and MSEs
in the framework of the
“Cultural Heritage as a Driver for Economic Revival of Janjevë/Janjevo” project.
I. Aim of the Call
The call for the grant scheme aimed to support the establishment of Start-ups and revive Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). It focused on creating employment opportunities, imparting new skills and knowledge, fostering entrepreneurship, and improving the economic status of Janjevë/Janjevo's residents through the provision of small grants and business consultancy support to selected beneficiaries.
II. Partnership with UNDP
D&D, in collaboration with UNDP, has jointly developed and is executing this grant scheme. This partnership, under the framework of the “Cultural Heritage as a Driver for Economic Revival of Janjevë/Janjevo” project, implemented by UNDP (financed by the European Union in Kosovo and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Kosovo) aims to achieve mutual goals by mobilizing professional expertise with projects’ resources. It's important to note that while we work closely with our partners, decisions regarding the selection and administration of grants are made jointly, reflecting our shared commitment to supporting the economic growth of Janjevë/Janjevo.
III. Call for Application
The open call for applications has been followed with all the relevant instructions, the eligibility criteria, and the application procedures, which have been posted online, as well as could be attained from our partner NGOs offices in Janjevë/Janjevo. The project has provided clarifications to all questions addressed by applicants by guiding them through written responses as well as by contacting applicants and providing additional clarifications about their questions.
IV. Administrative Verification Process
The administrative verification confirmed the completeness and authenticity of the documents required by the program according to the criteria in the call for applications.
Applicants who have passed the administrative verification process, have moved on to the technical evaluation process of the submitted business plans.
V. Evaluation Process and Selection
The evaluation process was conducted in collaboration with UNDP in Kosovo. The Evaluation Panel was comprised of 5 panel members. In accordance with the requirements of the call and the established criteria, the Evaluation Panel has selected the following list of applicants who will adhere to:
- completing the procedures of business registration;
- acceptance and signature of the contractual agreement;
- acceptance of a list of tools/equipment, including the provision of mentoring and coaching services in accordance with their application.

Among the selected applicants, 12 are Albanians, 5 are Croatians, 2 are Roma, and 1 is Turkish. Out of which, 11 are female, and 9 are male.
To all APPROVED applicants, congratulations on your qualification to develop your new business under the Grant Scheme.
To sign the contract and receive the tools and technical equipment to start your business activity, the project team will contact all APPROVED applicants to provide you with additional instructions for further actions.
To the ones who didn’t pass the selection process, we encourage you to continue refining and developing your business ideas for future opportunities.
